Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 July 2026

This policy explains how JEM Sheet Metal & Engineering Ltd (“JEM”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information through this website, jemsheet.com. It applies to enquiries, quotation requests and any drawings or files you send us.

Who we are

JEM Sheet Metal & Engineering Ltd is a sheet metal manufacturer based in Stockport, registered in England and Wales (company no. 03827202). Registered office: Borron Street, Portwood, Stockport, Cheshire, SK1 2JD. For any privacy question or request, contact us at rebecca@jemsheet.com or 0161 480 9606.

What we collect

When you contact us or request a quotation, we collect the information you provide. This typically includes your name, company name, email address and telephone number, the details of your enquiry, and any drawings, CAD files or specifications you upload. We do not collect special-category data, and we do not ask for payment details through this website.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, to prepare and provide quotations, to carry out any work you order, and to keep records of our dealings with you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to business enquiries and providing our manufacturing services — and, where you place an order, performance of a contract. Where we use optional analytics, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Your drawings and specifications

We treat the drawings, CAD files and specifications you send as confidential. Access is limited to the JEM staff involved in quoting and manufacturing your work. We do not sell or publish your files. Where a job requires a specialist finish such as powder coating, plating or anodising, we may share only the information necessary with a trusted finishing partner to complete your order. If you require a formal non-disclosure agreement, we are happy to put one in place.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics (Independent Analytics) to understand how the site is used; this does not track you across other websites. We also use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies — these load only after you accept analytics cookies through our cookie banner. You can decline non-essential cookies and still use the website normally.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf: our website hosting provider (Hostinger), the form software that receives your enquiries and uploaded files (Forminator, which stores data on our own hosting), and the analytics providers named above. Files may be shared with a trusted finishing partner only where needed to fulfil an order, as described above. We do not sell your personal information.

Storing information outside the UK

Most of your information is stored on our UK-based hosting. Where a provider processes data outside the UK — for example Google Analytics — that transfer is covered by the provider’s standard data-protection safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and quotation records, and any uploaded files, only for as long as necessary for the purposes above — handling your enquiry, providing quotations and fulfilling any resulting order — and for a reasonable period afterwards to support repeat work and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it securely.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, contact rebecca@jemsheet.com. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
