Preparing your drawing for quote.

The quickest, most accurate quotes come from a clear drawing or model. Here is what helps us price and make your part right first time.

You do not need a perfect technical pack to get a quote from us, but the more complete the information, the faster and more accurate the price and lead time. Here is what works best, and what to do if you only have a sketch or a sample.

File formats we accept

  • Flat profiles as DXF or DWG.
  • 3D models as STEP (.stp or .step), which let us read the folded part directly.
  • PDF drawings are welcome alongside a CAD file for dimensions and notes.
  • Only have a PDF, a photo or a hand sketch? Send it anyway, we will work with it.

What to include

A few details on the drawing remove the back-and-forth and let us quote straight away.

  • Material and grade, for example mild steel, 304 stainless or aluminium.
  • Material thickness.
  • Quantity, and whether it is a one-off or a repeating order.
  • Bends, or a folded 3D model that shows them.
  • Tolerances on the few features that are critical.
  • Finish (painted, powder-coated, grained or as-cut), and any welding or assembly required.

No drawing? We reverse-engineer

If you have a part but no drawing, send us the sample or an old component. We will measure it and produce a production-ready drawing, then make it.

How we quote

Once we have your files, we come back with a price and a lead time, usually within one working day. If anything on the design would make the part cheaper or faster to fabricate, we will flag it before you commit.

Key takeaways

  • Send DXF or DWG for flats, STEP for 3D; PDFs and sketches are fine too.
  • Include material, thickness, quantity, bends, critical tolerances and finish.
  • No drawing? Send a sample and we will reverse-engineer it.
  • Expect a price and lead time, usually within one working day.

Ready to send your drawing?
